Three months before the launch of the call, in January 2010, the Municipal Institute of Culture began to review the process and the results obtained in the first Biennial of Painting. At the start of jury selection and wording of the call, the event was supported for the first time, the National Council for Culture and the Arts and the Cultural Institute of Durango State, two institutions, in addition to City Hall and the Institute, which organized and convened a national level.
eight months later, in August, ended the first part of the Biennale. "The first part was planning to get to award the prize. In between is the whole process of selection of works made by juries, assembly and administrative procedures that leads to. The second part is the most interesting because it involves other institutions such as schools, to bring them not only the product of the Biennale, but a knowledge of contemporary visual arts in Mexico, "said Lucy Robles, coordinator of the Biennial Painting since 2008.
The dynamics of the guided tour with the girls and boys students will tour the hall of the Museum of Modern Art where they explain who the artists were selected at random, and a brief summary visual arts. It will point out that laguneros artists participating in the show and then, by groups "offer a workshop that aims to achieve an aesthetic experience or practice and a moment of reflection based approach to work," said Miguel Talamantes, manager Workshop on visits. The workshop will provide them with watercolors, acrylics, crayons, cards, aprons and other items. Workshops will be held from Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 13:00 hours in the museum of modern art at no cost.

But we go a little further: girls and children not having a constant contact with such expressions, we will guide you with simple information such as what materials are used, what parts make up a play, why paint what they depict, among other things, so have an idea of painting and not consider others or too far from your reality, "said Robles
The convening of the Second Biennial was launched on April 30 this year by the Instituto Municipal de Cultura de Gómez Palacio , inviting participation from all the artists of the country. We obtained a 67 artists with 165 works proposals which were selected 40 to 48 works. Only Participants received 39 artists with 47 works. The second issue involved 23 men and 16 women.
Guided tours for schools will remain open until Friday 17 September. The first school to attend the tours is the primary students Palacio. For information or registration can call 7501003 with regard to the coordination of the biennial.
The Second National Painting Biennial Gómez Palacio 2010 to end the show at the Museum of Modern Art of Gómez Palacio, will travel to the city of Durango, Revueltas Cultural Festival 2010, and then roam the city of Zacatecas and Federal District.
